Film Maker, Producer, Story teller.
Stephen is a film maker and story teller. He has been working in the film industry for over 10 years. At 19 he stepped out of his comfort zone to overcome a fear of public speaking by becoming involved with local theatre and a few brief appearances in commercials, movies and local TV as an extra, before a 10 year break to work in IT. After a serious illness and some soul searching he decided to go to film school and head back to the film industry this time behind the camera.
Stephen is the key creative at Light Studios, a production company based on Brisbane’s north side. His focus is on finding the heart of the story, which leads to the creation of inspirational and engaging films for his Corporate and NGO clients.
Stephen has experience working on a wide range of productions from single films to campaigns of various lengths. Recently he produced a child health campaign for World Vision PNG that aims to reduce the infant mortality rate through education. His work as an editor, colourist and camera operator has been seen on various broadcasters in Australia and his first documentary about climate change was completed at the beginning of 2016.
Speaking up for those who don’t have a voice is important to Stephen. There is a large degree of social inequality in the world especially around issues of poverty that have lead Stephen to work in various countries through the medium of film.
By combining his film making with his passion for social justice Stephen hopes to make the world a better place by engaging with people through various social media platforms.
